Mt.Fuji a world cultual heritage
What comes to people’s minds is probably Mt. Fuji which has a height of 3,776 meters
and is listed as a World Cultural Heritage site, will come to mind first.
More than 300,000 people a year climb Mt. Fuji, with half of them climbing along the Yoshida Route.
The number of climbers is counted by infrared lights on the eighth level of four climbing routes
Yoshida, Subashiri, Gotenba and Fujinomiya.
In comparison, the lowest mountain in Japan used to be Mount Tenpo, at only 4.53 meters above sea level,
until Mount Hiyori, in Miyagi Prefecture, was confirmed to be the lowest mountain
by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan in April 2014.
